"...une grande voix, juste, égale et bien timbrée sur toute la tessiture, une musicalité toujours en éveil et une réelle intelligence du texte chanté..."
- Claude Gingras, LA PRESSE, 2017
It’s with the Concours Musical International de Montréal that the public at large was introduced to the up and coming soprano France Bellemare, and major roles and offers began multiplying. With her warm, velvet sound, strong presence, and extreme artistic sensibility, she won the judges heart and received 3rd place and two special prizes. Since then, France has given many recitals from Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean to Montréal, most notably with la Virée Classique de l’OSM with the baritone Jean-François Lapointe. She has also worked with many of the prestigious Orchestras of the country including, including : McGill Chamber Orchestra, l’Orchestre de Drummondville (9ième symphonie de Beethoven), l’Orchestre de la Francophonie (2ième symphonie de Mahler), l’Orchestre de l’Agora and the Regina Symphony Orchestra (Shéhérazade).
Il est difficile de rester insensible à la Mimi si émouvante de France Bellemare, qui semble née pour chanter ce rôle.
- LA PRESSE, Caroline Rogers, 2017
She is very happy to have had the opportunity to premiere the role of the Mother in Opera de Montreal’s Another Brick in the Wall adapted from the classic by Roger Waters. She recently reprised the role for the American premiere at Cincinnati Opera in 2018, and will be performing the production again in Toronto at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto (Nov. 2019), and with Vancouver Opera (April 2020).
Some of her many great accomplishments include covering Musetta at the prestigious Metropolitan Opera in October 2017, and making her Metropolitan debut as Crobyle in Thaïs in November 2017.
